I saw In and his current band on Sunday just gone.
They were playing a private gig in Brighton at the 60th birthday party of a friend of mine.
I've never been that familiar with his oeuvre, with Pele, Amsterdam or solo.
My mate Andy, who's party it was, has been a massive fan back to the days of Pele.
It was an awesome night. The band kicked ass and it was great to catch up with old friends, some of whom I'd not seen in decades.
Anyway, IP used to post on GL as "Prowesy", and it really was a great gig.
I'm a total convert and have been devouring their back catalogue since.
It was a cracking wee venue, "The Prince Albert", and I'm also now a big fan of Brighton, what a nice, quirky, bo-ho vibe.
Superb couple of days and if you get the chance to check out Prowesy live I'd thoroughly recommend.
They played Takin' on the world.
They did a cover of Born to Run, which led to an uncoordinated outburst of boozy Dad-moshing.
He stuck around for a bit after, but he had to drive back to Liverpool as he was on the school run Monday.
Helluva nice guy.
Saw him supporting Costello 2 or 3 years ago. By far the better set.
Saw them a couple of times back in the day. Prowsey put Kate and I on their guest list in Newcastle and he let us watch him from his room at the side of the stage. She was in her element!
He was interviewed by Janice Long on BBC2 and I sent through a best wishes message. Janice said that was from your Auntie - we had a chuckle about that later.
I have several albums - this is my favourite song. If it works ... if not, it's Takin' On The World.
