Pfft. What, you think writing and producing 10 #1 singles is impressive?
[holds hand up to ear] I'm sorry, I'm being told those 10 #1 singles are just for The Supremes. Apparently, they also wrote/produced...hold on, that can't be right...surely, there's some...no, I've been informed they had another 30 #1 hits with other artists as well.
An absolute giant. On the off-chance anyone hasn't seen the documentary Hitsville: The Making of Motown, I cannot recommend it highly enough. If it's not the greatest music documentary ever, it's as good as whatever was. (That's right, you heard me, absolutely wonderful 20 Feet from Stardom.)
Writing "I Can't Help Myself" for the Four Tops... great, great song, a personal favourite.
Basically rewriting exactly the same thing and calling it "It's The Same Old Song"... absolute gold freakin genius.
Vale.
Not Enough people realize how brilliant H-D-H were ..... An insane amount of hits.

How many times did I look at the label on a 45 and read (Holland-Dozier-Holland)?
"When the world falls apart, some things stay in place......"
RIP fella.
