I looked but couldn't find a 'songs' I'm currently listening to' thread. I though we needed one but maybe, to be slightly different, songs you really love or new singles you are playing over and over or can't get enough of...

So. Here's a song that folks on here will either never have heard of (the vast majority of you) or will maybe think, wow, I haven't thought of this song in 40+ years! It was a good-sized hit in a handful of cities, mainly on or around the northeast of the US, and unknown virtually everywhere else.
It's unlike almost any other pop song I know of, in that it seems to be a rhyming minute-by-minute diary entry, with some witty wordplay, a killer melody, a fabulous bassline and "ah-WOO" back vox that never cease to slay. And a growling sax solo! What's not to like?
Ok, so I get a notification on Spotify that one of Australia's best songwriters has released a new single.
The new 'single' is 11 minutes long. I listen to it, a bit bemused, this is far from the songs like Cheap Wine and Merry Go Round that he wrote for and recorded with Cold Chisel back then.
Then this video came up. And I lost my mind. Don Walker, Australian song writing God, who I loved through Cold Chisel and then his solo stuff...
@Jerseyfornia Have you heard this? Pack a smoke and let it rip...
I have two right now... both lame and stupid for actual music fans like everyone here.
Firstly, to make it an even vaguely recent release, I'm obsessed with the live version of Don't Stop by the Stones from Live in NYC 2003. Every bone in my body tells me this is lame Stones later period rocker, recorded for the 40 Licks compilation, but yet... live, the groove, the melody, the guitars... I can't explain why I can't get enough of it.
The second is even worse... six months after finally finishing the Sopranos, I'm still obsessed with Journey's Don't Stop Believing. Journey weren't big here, at least from what ai remember. And I'm pretty sure I never heard this song before I watched the Sopranos finale. If I did, it never made an impression then. It's sure making one now.
I'll now head back to my crypt in the museum...
Somehow I fell behind with Steve Earle. He's put out albums so frequently the last ten years that if I stop paying attention, I miss releases. The last week, I've been obsessed with two singles from 2019 and 2020 and his tribute album to Jerry Jeff Walker, released a few months ago.
I've gotta keep better tabs on the hard core troubadour.
Oh wow, fabulous! Like yourself I can’t get enough of the guys music And voice. Only listened on the iPad, should have time tomorrow to give a listen on the hi-fi set up. Looking forward to it. Assume you’ve heard the solo Red Rocks album?
For me, right now, it's this. I am really excited for this whole album, a tribute by Blue Note to Leonard Cohen. This recording, in my humble opinion, is damn near a masterpiece.
I have grown to respect Rateliff more and more of late, especially after his last solo album, And Its Still Alright. This featured legends like Bill Frisell on guitar and Immanuel Wilkins on the sax.
