Sorry guys.... Beautiful Spring day here so I had to get out there and gets some miles in.... Was fantastic... But my phone never stopped buzzing with alerts from this place... 😂
It's awful quiet round here this morning. I am about to head out for breakfast with a friend - I hope when I get back the revolution will not have started, as happened last week!
I've checked in a few times since I got home from work. My 2 hours sleep got me through a long day, but I'm actually fading out and I'm trying to finish my staff schedule before I close my eyes.
Well I guess JF finally got to sleep, as he's gone quiet.
We had a cat who was a dreadful scavenge, but he was a hopeless hunter. The best thing he brought home was a full packet of 6 bread rolls - I think they must have been delivered to someone's doorstep. He always nicked a mince pie at Christmas. His brother was more of a hunter - mice mostly, which I didn't like.
Since I don't do pot or take Nyquil ( whatever that is) I can't say. Infact, not sure why I'm even responding, I've got exactly zero useful contribution to this.
Baby bunnys were our fella's main target. Funny thing was, he'd only bring us half. I was never sure which was worse, the top half with the lifeless eyes or the bottom half with the......'emissions'. Neither was pleasant.
She doesn't get birds often. This is only the second I can remember. I do like that she gets alot of rodents. I did not like waking up with a bloody mole head on my pillow.
I'm not gonna make my bedtime. I went outside for a smoke and a walk around the property and I tripped and broke a water spout. Found the valve box and it was filled with hard packed dirt so I had to dig it out only to find...no valve. I figured it's in the next box up the line. Had to dig that out. At least, I was right and the valve was there. It wouldn't budge. Had to get some wrenches. Got the water turned off to that spout finally and all I could think of was getting back inside, downing some orange soda and taking a few bedtime puffs and a shower. Instead, I found feathers. Lots of fucking feathers. Momma Kitty is a serial killer. She absolutely has to have at least one kill a night and she brings every one inside for show and tell.
@Daisey Jeep Your toby is the main valve. It shuts off the water to the entire property. A spout is a spicket (outside tap). There are about two dozen around this property and each one has its own valve to shut off the water to just that spicket or a group of spickets or sprinklers.
One thing this pandemic has triggered in me is a profound contempt for people who make a living of renting property. I understand that people may find themselves in circumstances where they have an empty home and they rent it at reasonable price.
But it’s hard to find anything morally acceptable about this business. People make money because they already have money to buy a home, their buying homes make homes more expensive for everybody and prevents people from buying forcing them... to rent! I don’t understand how this is not more heavily regulated and taxed.
Specially here in the UK, my experience has been that renting a home can be very much like tenants are only allowed to use the property out of the kindness of the LL’s heart.
This pandemic has really exacerbated this problem and I have been thinking about moving out but I find it inconceivable that it’s pretty much impossible to find a 2 bedroom property under £1000 in Edinburgh. Who can afford this? And those who can’t, what does that mean for them? Waking up at what time, leaving their kids at nursery/school at what time and seeing them again at what time and for how long?
i agree with you too TJ, all landlords care about is the money, the property market has to burst ....but it doesnt, we were traped in our 'cheap' rental for way too long, after we left landlord put the rent up to $365 a week for 45m2 one bedroom granny flat and a garage, not even in town, but the northern subpurbs where someone would have to commute into the city to earn descent money
Of course, silly me, and I went off and read the paper. Chatting with you would probably have done more for my mood...
Early evening, Pacific time is Radio Nowhere 'round here.
Hello - its 10.52 on a wild and stormy tursday
Hi @Daisey Jeep I missed you too! I think I had a good Saturday, but you might have meant Sunday and now its Monday I believe!
I found Kent Guitar and invited him
I really have to figure out those alerts. 😆. There are a few too many.

Sleep well JF.
I am!
is there anybody alive out there ?

How am I still awake? How much pot and Nyquil does it take to put down a 54 year old nocturnal insomniac mental case?

Two doses of Nyquil and I'm ready to sleep, only an hour after my intended bedtime. G'night.
JF do you put a bell on your cats? We did when we had our fella. He was a hunter also, so this was our attempt to protect the wild birds.

And now the shower's woke me right up.
I agree with you TJ. The property market is booming again apparently, but homes should be homes, not investments.

What kind of societies are we maintaining?
