I'll kick this off by saying that this is a friendly place to hang out. Members can post about anything which is on their minds, Bruce related or otherwise, and be sure of a empathetic response.
Already, just a couple of weeks in, there are threads which entertain, inform and make us think.
I thought I would miss the old place but, when I popped in for a look at what was being said about Letter to You, I knew I had made the right move.
Not half AJ.
A 'perspective' day and then some.
I figured some of us needed a boost today.
No secret, BEB. The Tay Bridge and Celticlass email are a bit of a give-away ... not to mention the Toon reference. Oh, and the reason I'm Eileen over yonder is because I panicked and didn't think of a Bruce-related name. Jeannie? A link, also to Dundee. I'm named after my Granny - sort of - she was Jane but didn't like it so everybody called her Jean. My name is Eileen Jean and known as Jeannie to some of my Scottish relatives/friends. A favourite uncle used to sing I Dream Of Jeannie when I visited.
Nice of you to say I'm a legend over there. Taking a back seat here and looking forward to pleasant chat now and again.
I use an RSS feedreader, so I still get notified when there's a new post at the old place. I'll sometimes click over to read the post and skim the responses. I see some folks are posting both places. But I don't think it's just my imagination that there's less activity there in general and with a few exceptions the quality seems to be down quite a bit.
I just responded to what I thought was a truly insane post; I probably shouldn't have, but the hell with it. (Also, the fact that it wasn't pulled down for being political feels highly indicative, although I may be reading too much into that.)
One of the funniest things I ever heard was a drunk Capetonian telling another drunk Capetonian "I'll hit you so hard your asshole will stamp a nought on the pavement!"
I hate you all and I'm a bit handy. Who wants some?
I haven't looked back. I love this place. I haven't had much chance to post but it's already home.
My apologies. Preparing the political forum, I think that some things were moved. I think this thread belonged to this section.
Where the hell did this category come from.
I am still looking at The Other Place, but I am only posting here. Posting is like going to a comfortable pub where you can have intelligent conversation without people taking offence rather than a bar where you're never quite sure if a punch-up may kick of.
Yeah, the only one here who didn’t seem be excited with it was me...
