For those of you who no longer visit our old home and who supported Roy and his family, I just wanted to let you know that Roy has posted over there, thanking everyone for their love and support and sending everyone his best wishes. The post is over in The Circuit.

I still have a read once a week or so over there, but haven't felt the urge to post anything in quite a while. I vote occasionally if / when I see a poll that strikes my interest. Of course, those polls generally fall short of what they used to be when some dude called the Poll Driver used to run them.
I still browse the main board at Greasy Lake every other week or so, but I keep my word and never log in under one of my old accounts or post. It's not a hard promise to keep. Yes, as is expected, the topics are often the same between the two boards (and every other Springsteen message board), but the posts aren't. It's not the topics that matter to me, but the contributions to those topics. Most of the Lakers I cared the most about reading post here now. I miss Roy, BD and some others, and I'd like to see Daisey and you, Ken, post a little more over here, or at least drop in more often.
I don't think it has to be a competition. Some people post on both sites, some choose to only post on one, what's the problem?
I have come to appreciate the intimacy and closeness of the group on here and have definitely posted personal stuff I would never have shared on a larger forum. It may be naive of me, but I trust everyone here.
The people I care about are either here or I am in contact with via What's App. The only person whose banter I miss is Roy.
We are the boutiquest Springsteen forum. I think it's not about how many of us are here, it is about who we are, what we'll do and what we won't. I admit, it's not always as lively as it was back there, cos we mainly agree on everything. We are just nodding along at each other, basically. We agree and feel similar about different stuff, and maybe on the long run an internet forum is doomed being this way, but I feel an immense amount of brotherly love here, and a wide open space without censorship....
There's nothing more rewarding for me than to check this site early in the morning to find some of the most beautiful and funny thoughts posted here.
I miss some people from the old place, too. But the ideal of a fair community was broken, and I won't go back.
I hope @ibbhomero will eventually find the time to set up the donation page, I assume the moderators don't have a lot of work to do around here, we are a self maintaining forum, and I hope we will all continue to post here regularly, until we grow old and die...
Jimmy, you are one of the people I miss, and instead of trying to get us back there (which is impossible), be creative and post here more often. We don't bite.
xxx
Ann, you and all are very much missed. And if you would just step back and look at it maybe you would see what I see. The two boards are the same. I really only drop in here to read the political post. Because the main forum here is the exact same page as over there. I understand you can't communicate with JF and Billy B, because of a stupid decision. I'm friends with both of them on FB, Billy is a riot! JF post his great poems! I think you and all would be welcomed back with open arms.
I checked the Lake, but couldn't find Roy's thread. Would love to read it... Felt kinda lost there....
thank you @whispered secret for alerting me to Roy's post. I miss the acerbic humor of that guy, but I know he doesn't have much to laugh about right now.
Oh, that’s awful. I was on that forum more when she had her first treatment, and all was looking well. I don’t even know what to say. 😞
Oh no, I didn’t know that Abbey had passed away? Is that right? I didn’t spend much time on GL, it seems. 😔
Thanks for the above. Short of something really necessary, I won't be posting on GL and have mostly gotten out of the habit of visiting, so would have missed Roy's post.
