After you quote the highlighted text, place your cursor at the end of the text, enter, then backspace.

OK, I can quote on the laptop but I can't figure how to get my own text in?
Just testing, doesn't work on my Samsung tablet using Chrome. Ah, well, when I get a chance I'll see how it works on a laptop

Copy a part of this post.
Click reply and paste into the text field.
Highlight what you pasted.
A tool bar should appear just above the highlighted text?

Ok, I think the “quote button” is the little rectangle with an arrow on the left and a line on the right. Seemed to work.
I'm on a windows PC.
I don't see a quote button on the iPad either.

I don't even see quote button. On android.
There may be a simpler way, but the only way I've found is to copy the text you want to quote, paste it into your reply field, highlight it and click the quote button in your text options.
