I switched to all-digital music years ago, but I've held out when it comes to books. Until now. In the last two days, the same things that seduced me about digital music have got me building quite an e-book library. I'm walking around with about 100 books on my phone and that makes me extremely happy.
Might get me one of those fancy e-readers soon then.
I'm old school when it comes to both, although the convenience of digital music is very appealing! Without it, I would be unable to take part in much of the Album Club discussions, for example.
But, I love books and, more especially book shops. If we all read books on devices, what happens to browsing in a book shop? Unlike with music, where I am not very adventurous, I often pick up books because they look interesting - a good cover is important - books which I would never find if I was purely digital.
Having said all that, I have noticed that my sister has moved almost entirely to Kindle following the stroke she had last year. Getting into town to a book shop has become more difficult for her, so she reads reviews and gets recommendations for books to download and her Kindle is very much her friend.
Any they are great for travelling!
