I've just watched the first episode and really enjoyed it. I have great (new?) hopes for this after being relatively disappointed with The Book Of Boba Fett.
Without giving anything away hopefully, about a third of the way through Episode 1 the action shifts from Tatooine to another location, and I sheepishly admit to getting Star Wars nerd goosebumps when I realised what was up. And this part of the story did not disappoint... so, so perfect. I was grinning like a loon.
The Mandalorian has been good to very good over two seasons, but for me this was something else... the best delving into that whole Jedi / Force mythology part of Star Wars since possibly the original trilogy. Also, a lot of 'train spotting' type fan service stuff which in some of the other Disney produced oeuvre seems tokenistic or done just for the sake of it, whereas here it was much more organically tied to the story itself. Tremendous stuff.
