Ouch..my head hurts, that was some party...contrary to what some say, at this time of year we are the land of the midnight sun with 21 hours of daylight, meaning that when the schools are on holiday the kiddies can play outside on their bicycles well into the evening, and the street parties across Scotland lasted well into the wee sma` hours. When Italy equalised the roar almost blew all the Italian bunting off the pub roof and indeed the rood itself, the roar must have been heard in lands end. Earlier someone mentioned sour grapes, plenty grapes fermenting now for you.
It was so good to have a ref. who was savvy to the diving exploits of con kane, sterling and to a lesser extent last night, maguire, good officials like this is the only way to stop it, but unfortunately their league does not have that many good refs.
It was only a few days ago that england were handed a UEFA fine because of their "fans", last night those "fans" did not fail to deliver yet again. Booing the anthem, breaking into the stadium, assaulting srewards, assaulting police, obviously fines do not work so it is time to take decisive action like in the 1980`s and impose a ban period. The fans at the match must have been a real disappointment to the team, a big final like this and they should have been with them all the way to get them a result, but despite the best possible start, they were dead quite within 15 mins, same second half wee burst of noise/energy just after half time then dead quiet within 10 mins this time, they showe a little sign of coming to life in the second half of extra time, but it was too little too late, and this transmits to the team on the field.
I understand maguire is claiming an assist for the england goal, and the corner he gave away, as the ball skewed off his hoof, was all part of the plan. It was a well taken goal, not an easy chance, and I am please for shaw as he has had a long difficult time and this is just reward for all his hard work to get back to where he was, england MOTM and probably the tournament for me was rice, he ran himself to a standstill protecting the donkeys, snuffing out fires and trying to drive his team forward by taking the game to the opponents, if only his team mates had shown half his committment they MAY have fared better, but if truth be told, had this been a boxing match the ref. would have stopped the contest mid way through the 2nd half. Gareth should stay on and get a medal from queenie.
Best fot Italy and MOTM was Verratti, even though he has had better games, he dictated play and everything went through him, Italy have been saving him through the tournament only giving him little over an hour in games, last night he went as long as he could and it is no coincidence that the best spell england had was after he went off.
Best game of the tournament by far was the Italy v Spain semi-final, should have been the final, and biggest disappointment was France, who just did not have the interest to bother themselves.
Besides the goal by Italy, the high point of last night was seeing the huge Saltire flag amongst out Italian friends behind the goal.
When they got the defibrillator out I thought he was a goner, gladly it turned out better that looked possible, wishing hin a full and speedy recovery, but sadly I do not think we will see his sublime skills on a football pitch again.
They have got it bad this time those uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded,hypocritic neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed people over there.
Seems that the grapes have really gone sour over at the lake.

🤣🤣
I just wonder which National Anthem he will be singing tonight ?
I'm afraid I hit a new level of sweary apoplexy while watching the Denmark/Belgium game.
McCoist, one of the biggest cheats I ever saw playing football, going all pious "that's not good" when a Dane was booked for diving.
That man is an utter, utter fucking bawbag.
I fucking detest him with a passion that can only be imagined.
Do, now we know Erickson has survived, can we take this thread in a new direction?
How fucking hideous is McCoist?
I detest that irritating bawbag with a passion that can only be wondered at.
The boy is a grain of salt under a contact lens.
No, I think his fitba career is probably done, but hopefully he'll enjoy a long life.

Very pleased I wasn’t watching that live, sounds horrific. Delighted it doesn’t appear to be as bad as it looked initially.
Stable and consciousness. Hopefully a full recovery. That was traumatic.
Hoping for the best for him.
This is horrible, doesn't look good.
