AJ, this morning's "Big Match Revisited" on ITV 4 had (all too brief) Highlights of Birmingham City v Man City from 1974.
Final score Birmingham 4 Citeh 0.
I'd forgotten Kenny Burns started life as a centre forward, he scored one.
One of the dirtiest players I've ever seen once he converted to a centre back.
I recall the great Willie Miller telling a story about how in an international game, Jock Stein played Willie ("the best penalty box defender I've ever seen" - Alex Ferguson) in midfield to accommodate Burns in defence.
Willie summed it up thus - "He was fat. I was played out of position for a fat man. I didn't like that."
Howard Kendall got one of the other goals.
Keith McRae in goals for Citeh, I recall seeing him ship 7 for Motherwell against the Dons at Pittodrie, maybe 72ish.
Honest, for old school fitba fans this is one of the best watches of the week.
In one of the other games a Supermac inspired Toon beat Chelsea 5-0.
Should be on the ITV player.
Ok, will hope he does well, anyone who gives 100% is alright in my books! Big derby game for us today against Coventry, with whom we are ground sharing at the moment. It would be fun if fans were allowed in!
