Can people who are not members post? I have a notification that 'someone' downvoted my answer on the 'should we have a political forum' question. That's why I asked @Mario Brega about the up/down voting.
I had a troll on the old lake and I hope she hasn't found her way over.
Regarding non member access - can we have a forum which is only available for members to read - maybe the I don't want to go home forum? I am thinking of the very personal story JF has posted, which imo, should only be accessible to members.
So, this option is only available whenever a thread is started as a question, and we can up or down vote, mainly to express non-verbal agreement/disagreement?
I tried playing with my reply, and I can go in both directions, but I'm assuming it doesn't go to minus/negative numbers?
Thanks for your answers. I still don't quite understand how 'someone' reacted to a post, but I am probably being paranoid! I will monitor the situation to see if it happens again.
Hi Ann
i especilly got my laptop out so i could reply you beacuse i also have reasaon to be nervouse like you,
i intend to never use the down button - i liked the like options of greasylake.org - a down button could be very mean spirited . but i just wanted to shear a wee story with you to alluvate your concerns. i follow this site that um - well its really irelvent what it is about but i go there to look at pretty things for stress relaef anyway it .....it posts pictures of royal ladies wearing their jewles from around the world ( it was better before covid)
anyway for months totally in error i was down arrowing people left right and centre thinking it was the like button - how terrible is that !
we are all learning how to drive this place - sorry my lap top cant spell as good as my phone sorry - so just put in down to someone learning the ropes like we all are and so far everybody seems commited to making this place work and be fun and freindly and my big hope is if we do get a political forum (which i gotta admit is a big attraction to me with Billy and Bushman here) i only hope that everyone is respectful of people's feelings and do not drag ill feeling from one thread or sub forum to another
Nicky
ps and remeber id like to see anyone who can troll as good as Rick ....and he turned out to be a really good freind
Louisa, there are little arrows to the left of a person‘s comment. If you touch the bottom arrow, it’s a down vote, I believe.
Can someone please explain what a down vote is, thanks.
