Film Review: Western Stars (2019)“Western Stars is a thirteen song meditation on the struggle between individual freedom and communal life. There are two sides of the American character: one is transient, restless, solitary; but t…
Awesome review... as others have said, the fact that it leaves me wanting to watch the darn thing again RIGHT NOW suggests you've really nailed it with this one.
Interestingly by coincidence, someone on BTX has posted that Western Stars has been removed from Netflix here in Australia. Ah well, it's back to the Standard Definition DVD (which is the only physical release we got here Down Under) instead of the HD stream by the looks of it...
Does anyone perhaps have an audio rip from the DVD?
Loved it! Thank you for compiling all (or not?) spoken vignettes, that's such a lovely and fitting term. I was, again, so moved by Bruce's wise words and by the relevance of your review.
One of your best pieces. It will be on my mind while I'm in the high desert tomorrow.
Superb K. Just superb. I have to pull out the DVD and watch it again tonight, thank you.

I'll read it in the morning, as the substitute for the archive review. 🙂
What a brilliant read, thanks for writing and sharing.
I was going to make a snarky comment about you being so late and how this isn't what we pay you the big bucks for and all that...but then I read the review. Hokey smokes, what a fantastic piece.
