I don't think this was posted here yet. It's by Scary Pockets, a rotating group of top Los Angeles session players (primarily). Far more indebted to Manfred Mann's version, but since I adore that ridiculous, ridiculous cover, I'm okay with it.

Before I first heard the song back in 1980 and the line about "a silicon sister" I had never heard about breast implants. When I looked up what silicon was and what it was used for in the context of women - not sure how - I found something about asian prostitutes using it to enlarge the breasts to please the taste of american soldiers stationed abroad. In Sweden silicon implants became more known in the '90's and the procedure has pretty much exploded in more recent years. Back in 1973 Bruce was pretty young and fresh as an artist. At that point he hardly had lived a life as a touring and partying celebrity meeting full time groupies etc. So, that brings to my question: was silicon breast implants already a thing among ordinary american women as early as the beginning of the '70's or was the "silicon sister" Bruce refering to part of some fringe group like a professional groupie, stripper or semi-prostitute?
I said to myself, "please make it stop." Then I realized I could. Whew.
