Some time last year, I read about a Twilight Zone episode from the 60's (I think!). It was about a person that comes to a town, and that town becomes more and more surrounded by a dark cloud. This cloud is the town's negative and destructive feelings, and the inhabitants are not able to leave due to this cloud surrounding the town and keeping them in. That's what I remember of the synopsis, anyway; I haven't been able to find it later.
After reading this, I couldn't help but instantly think of Darkness (the song) - there are just too many similarities for it to be a coincidence.
Does sound familiar to anyone?
Well, we know Bruce watched the show because he talks about a particular episode plus plays the Twilight Zone theme riff on guitar during, I think, Glory Days on one of the 84 Archive releases.
I love The Twilight Zone - I love Darkness on the Edge of Town too, if you didn't know hahaha - but I'm unfamiliar with this episode. I guess that comes with only having scene the first season (or first two, not too sure). Anyway, this post has fascinated me today and I've tried to find out the episode.
The Wiki entry talks about an invisible wall rather than a dark cloud, but is it Valley of the Shadow? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valley_of_the_Shadow It sounds kinda familiar to what you write, Zoom.
