Does Springsteen realize the rest of us are mere mortals?

I imagine they'll remaster everything, but hopefully they leave the audio mix alone and don't do any new overdubs on that. Then again, I would love to hear the Hollywood Hills '83 demos with real bass and drums. In fact, I'd accept all new recordings of all those garage demos from California.

@klavallee That bootleg certainly looks the part visually, but I think the jury is out on whether they have the sound in multi track. Actually, probably worse than out, everything we have documented suggests they don't.

On the other hand, we know they have LA 85 not just in pro shot video but also in multi track audio. So that's why I personally think that, if the box was to include a full show, one of these would be it. My personal preference would be one show in full (maybe the last one), with all songs filmed from that same stand but not played in that last show included as bonus tracks.

If they have both Toronto 84 and Paris 85 with soundboard audio at least as good as Houston 78 or, preferably, even better, some version of that being included would be fantastic. In any case, I'd expect a doco as part of this box, and both those video sources should feature extensively in that.

Really, audio and video wise, this (alleged) box set has the potential to be the absolutely greatest Springsteen release ever. Take my fuckin money, and take it now... geeze, the Junior Bosstralians will be perfectly happy eating Two Minute Noodles when they see how happy Dad is listening to a pristine version of Protection and /or grinning like a loon at watching his favourite musicians clowning around on-stage while playing the cracking 85 Cadillac Ranch.

Well, if he doesn't get on with it, they'll have to bill it as the Dead In The U.S.A. tour.
