Well, if we are including other covers, this happens to be one of my favourites. Arno Carstens from Springbok Nude Girls did this a few years back. And he does do something different with the song. Saw him do this live too. Was fantastic.
I like it, but agree with Steve that the power of the full 2014 band (horns and all) gave this more gusto.
Still, ACDC is ACDC... take them on at your own peril, especially if attempting to go pound for pound and riff for riff. Which is why I like this take on the song, which mines it's own vein...
On BTX, someone is claiming they FB messaged Ron Aniellio who confirmed that he recorded Bruce's vocal for this on the farm. Plus, those 2014 recordings (at least as released for our purchase) are not great sound wise. Although I assume those with the means could extract Bruce's vocal track and make it sound as it does on this.
Love this version of Highway to Hell. Over the last year have really gotten into Pearl Jam. Was going to show before Covid hit. Also love Morello as a artist and guitarist. I think he fits right in with the ESB. He sits in the sidelines until his part is to be played! Never try's to over play Bruce.
@Jerseyfornia are you talking about the Brown shirt with Red shoulder strips? I'm sure Bruce would have let us know if that really meant something!
Don't get me wrong, I love Tommy's contribution to ESB too, GOTJ & American Skin are right up there among my favourites, I am just not sure I care for this particular song.
I always like it when Bruce teams up with Morello ("Commy Tommy" for the hard of thinking) as it appears to wind up reactionary types........which is nice.
I remember I drew a warning once back on Greasy Lake for posting a photo of a jar of Morello cherries on a thread attacking Tom and also Bruce's "communist" shirts at the time. Good times.

Only listened once but just doesn't have the energy of the Brisbane version.... Maybe it will grow on me.
I like it more than I thought I would.
I like it.
Guys, isn't this the same thing?

I like it! Bruce's voice sounds good and strong. And Tom is a hell of a guitarplayer.

The Highway to Hell cover is decent.

This might not be my favourite collaboration...
