I was lucky enough to be there at both 2016 Paris shows. This from night 1 was when we had the power cut and the alarms going off for about 20 mins. In view of the previous recent Paris attack, security had been incredibly tight getting in so I hoped that we were safe inside. We were stood next to two Belgian girls who wanted to leave in case it was an attack. French guy also next to us says "No, no, best stay here, if you leave now you could be the first to be shot if there's an attacker" 😯. They stayed and of course all was well and it was an amazing show. Mind you, on leaving and we thousands pile out onto a narrow Paris street, I did say to Mrs r that if someone exploded a bomb now, it would be carnage. We live in different times now when we go to shows and of course at the moment, we go to none. Let's hope for better in the future.
Interestingly, I have been listening to the 84 and 85 shows this week, and was thinking today about starting a thread, dedicated to Johnny 99. The 'sit back..' part is so sharp and probably one of his best sociopolitical lines.
I will do it in the morning. Johnny 99 deserves a thread.
I think the OP was referring specifically to actual yells and screams, but as Mario and I have meandered off into shouted lyrics, I'll keep on that path and mention the 'here in Youngstoooowwwnnnn' that precedes the last verse on full band versions of that song.
Can I redeem myself by mentioning those live versions of "Rosie" where him and Stevie start rambling and yelling like mad men - or are they barking like dogs? The one I've just played tonight from Perth, Feb 7th, 2014 has a bunch of it.
@Mario Brega Good one. On that theme, a shout out to the bawdy whoops and hollers and whatever elses in the pre She's The One songs on the Darkness tour.
The last 'Town' in any live version of DOTET is almost a shout itself, but is often followed by a shout or grunt. The 78 live versions closed with a loud 'HUH!" also.
One of my personal favourite live Springsteen performances of recent years, thank you for posting.
I had to shovel snow in the morning, now I'm working.
I'll be back! 🌨️
Sit back in that chair and think it over, judge, one more time
LET 'EM SHAVE OFF MY HAIR, AND PUT ME ON THAT KILLIN' LINE!
(live at Giants Stadium, August 1985)
This "Streets of Fire" from February 8th, 2014 has a few mint yells.
I was thinking about wild animal sounds, yes 🐾.... And finally I have one.... Cadillac Ranch

"It's a town full of losers, and I'm pulling out of here to..."
Take your pick as to what era of "WIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNN" you want to add.
Well, don't forget Jungleland where he moans and screams at the end

"Something in the night" springs to mind.
Ive always gotten a kick out of squawking grunting Bruce myself.
A good example is at 7:18 of the song. 😀
"Born in the U.S.A.", "State Trooper", "Atlantic City"
