In I don't wanna go home
The tour (and ticket fiasco) has brought me back to the Bruciverse. The lockdown and a new job last year (same employer), meant some changes for me. Among the things that kept me sane, Darkness. Would’ve had thunk it? I have played that album more in the last 12 months than any other Bruce album and almost as much as when I bought it back in ‘81. (I missed out on the oringial glory of ‘78.) I hope everyone is well. (I changed my name back to Marilla as the “Willow” thing wasn’t working for me.)

I have just checked every thread listed as having a comment on my notifications tab. I have read them all, as indicated by the disappearance of the blue dots beside all threads on the list. The list is still there, and worse, there is still a red 19 beside by notifications tab. What am I missing?

In The Circuit - Bruce
Teamed up with some fellow New Jerseyans to encourage everyone this holiday season to wear a friggin’ mask. Let’s all come together and #MaskUpNJ so we can get back to what we do best – singing along and dancing together. — in New Jersey. https://www.facebook.com/brucespringsteen/posts/10158551072980250

As you may know, Alex Trebek, Canadian-born host of Jeopardy, died last week of pancreatic cancer. Here is a tribute from our nation’s capital. You have to turn the volume way up to hear. https://apt613.ca/video-of-the-week/?fbclid=IwAR1AS3weoTLgTB7DKGuvGy8omAVeOheH52VQg6jY0Hqbkh6SZNkptJ7jgaY

A giant inflatable Borat has taken over the Toronto waterfront. 😳 I didn’t see the first movie. Does anyone recommend it? https://www.blogto.com/film/2020/10/giant-inflatable-borat-toronto-waterfront/?fbclid=IwAR18oWJ96-gEQbvcuJv_pbxhVffcNIzYd3rS2WPc12MHFpwCpyZ0zvBpRno

I haven’t read it yet. Gotta love my siblings. My brother emailed me the link and my sister posted it on Facebook and tagged me.

In some cases, I am unable to unfollow threads. I click on Unfollow and it changes briefly to Follow but reverts to Unfollow. I have only actually chosen to follow a couple of threads, yet I am somehow following other threads too.

The awards show was a but of a dud. I say “a bit” because I can’t imagine how they could have presentEd the awards, publicly, in any other way. As a fan of Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy since 1976, when Second City first aired, I was thrilled to see them and the show sweep the comedy awards last night. The cast gathered at Casa Loma in Toronto for the show, after having been tested and isolating themselves for two weeks.

In I don't wanna go home
I haven’t seen any covid threads yet so I thought I would start one because today I went in to work for the first time since March 12. The only way to describe it is surreal. It was the same old library but everything was different. We have two teams of two, each going in one day a week, to process curbside service and, as of next week, scan print journal articles. For the first time in 20 years, I shelved. My knees are not what they used to be. My back aches. And the stacks have motion activated lighting so I headed into the darkness, all alone, pushing a wonky truck. It was really creepy. Fortunately, there is no rush to reshelve the backlog of books; as long as we can find them on the sorting shelves, we can take our time. I am glad I am back, if only once a week, because it felt almost normal even though I didn’t do any of my own regular work. How is everyone else doing?

I thought this would a good place to introduce or reintroduce ourselves. I came to dislike my old Laker name, Marilla Gorilla, because, 1.) I like to think I am better looking than a gorilla, and 2.) when I chose the name Marilla I was thinking of the young, vibrant daighter of Anne (of Green Gables) not the grumpy woman who adopted her. The daughter was actually called Rilla. 🤨 So I thought that Willow, ‘neath which, many Bruce protagonists can be found, would be a good new name.
