Lets celebrate woman in sport
We are lucky in NZ because netball gets alot of support and coverage for a woman's game, no doubt helped by the fact Australia are our greatest foe. I have only recently taken an interest in woman's cricket - it has been just as excitting and skillful as the man's game.
So shear stories and happenings in woman's sport here as we still fight for equality on the playing feild
Only just noticed this thread.
Yes, we should celebrate women in sport. My own heroes are Serena, Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka in tennis, which is the sport I enjoy the most. Heroes on and off the court.
As Mr J is so into athletics, we watch quite a bit of that, although there hasn't been a lot this year and I have always enjoyed the multi discipline events. Jessica Ennis Hill was an amazing athlete.
I enjoy watching netball, although it gets very little coverage here. My great niece was a really good player, made it to the England U18 squad, but then injury put her out of the game for 18 months and put paid to her England career.
I am starting to get interested in womens' football, which is becoming a lot more popular here.
We shouldn't forget show jumping, three day eventing and horse racing - the only sports (I think) where men and women compete equally against each other.
