So, I always took The Beatles 'Back in USSR' to be an affectionate tribute / satire on Chuck Berry's 'Back In The USA'.
Is Bob Seger's 'Katmandu' a similar tribute to both those songs? I always thought so due to the common denominator of Chuck Berry styled musical arrangement, but the more I listen to the Bob Seger back catalogue the more this seems a lyrical outlier. I myself can only hear it as a tribute / satire of the earlier tribute / satire done by the Veatles.
