I’ve spent much of the last year since buying tickets, (all at face value), for five European shows, deep in thought. When the dynamic ticket scandal developed, I naively thought this must be Ticketmaster, it couldn’t be Bruce. When the truth emerged my sadness turned to anger and then a sort of self righteousness where I pontificated about how immoral it was and what a betrayal it was of everything I thought Bruce stood for, I decided that I would go to Paris and then possibly sell my other tickets.
My high minded principles were blown out of the water before the end of first verse of No Surrender by the power of this remarkable man and his phenomenal band. I loved every minute of both shows. Far from looking to sell, I’m now seeking one for Villa Park because of what I witnessed in Paris. Don’t worry about the relatively static playlist, it’s brilliantly put together. Ignore all the negativity you may have read elsewhere, let’s enjoy this while we still can, it looks and feels like this could be our last chance to witness the mighty E St Band.
Yes, I’m a hypocrite.
