Sorry for getting back to you late - hope it's still available!
It's a sound area and transport is alright depending on where you are. The #23 bus takes you to the stop over the bridge, and the Stadium of Light is about a 10 min walk from there. There's a #4 bus on Durham road that gets you close to the Stadium, too, but again it depends on where you are in Thorney I suppose.
I'd be stunned if there isn't a Metro from St. Peters station running afterward (although with the inconsistency of the Metro don't quote me on that 😅). Then it's about a 40 minute-ish journey into Central.
We stayed in Newcastle city centre last time, got metro back and forth all day (roll calls to attend), got a day ticket for metro, all worked very well.
Wow, when do the Adelaide tickets go on sale?
Ok, no Adelaide. Maybe Melbourne, only 800 odd kms and a 50 minute flight...
Ah, no Melbourne. Maybe Sydney? Brisbane? Hello...? Hello....?
Oh well, back to the daily kangaroo rustling and crocodile wrestling I guess.
@Mario Brega
Seen an OK looking AirBnB but I need some location info.
It's in Thorney Close, OK area? Links to and from the stadium?
That's the ticket bought, now to sort travel and a billet.
Well, walking is out......
I don't recall there being this paucity of accommodation in 2012.
@Mario Brega How much of a mission is it getting to Newcastle post gig?
Bloody hell, seems every room in Sunderland pretty much booked up.
AEG presale Thursday
Kieran, any sneaky Mackem pre sales a la Villa Park?
