I’m looking forward to the tour later in the summer. I was checking out some of the recent set lists…nothing from Western Stars. I’m sorry about that. Why??!!
Absolutely correct weight and all clear.
I still think Darkness On The Edge into Western Stars would be an incredible song pairing / sequence.
As orchestral as the WS album was in parts, I still think the horns could be subbed into an arrangement of some of these songs and work well within the context of this show. At the very least, as @Mario Brega pointed out, Tuscan Train or Sleepy Joe's Cafe should easily fit the show.
If / when Patti appears again, what about Stones?
Leaving the current tour aside, I think there is an incredible potential for a 'personal relationship journey' themed non-E Street tour show in the future. Where Bruce, either solo or (preferably) with a small band and string section do a show covering the individual arc I see represented in his catalogue by Tunnel Of Love > Human Touch / Lucky Town > Working On A Dream > Western Stars. Detouring through thematically and musically related songs such as Long Time Coming and Girls In Their Summer Clothes. I'd pay good bucks to hear that.
@louisa in Scotland we'd say thrawn.
Disappointing particularly as it stands head and shoulders above anything he’s done since WB, in my opinion. Makes no sense to me and don’t buy the ‘rock’n’roll’ E Street tour thing.
Hello, not sure if you're a genuine newbie or an "old stager" with a new handle.......either way welcome/welcome back *delete as appropriate*.
As has been said, the lack of any WS material is a disappointment, particularly as the album was never toured.
Hopefully these tunes will surface in a live show at some point......🤞
Not including anything from WS is the biggest disappointment for me. I wrote about this issue on several threads here. It is his late-career masterpiece and I hope some journalist asks him this question and we get an explanation. I'd love to know why.
