What a Horlicks the NFL made of the ticket sales for the Jints GB game at Tottenham.Ended up paying silly money for not great tickets through the secondary market.
Just the front page had me chortling away to myself.
Oh yes, I remember it well.
Mid 80s until mid 90s?
Sadly, the Internet did for fanzines, as with many things.
Quite a few writers and broadcasters cut their teeth in the world of the fanzine.
Jim Spence started off writing for "The Final Hurdle" a Dundee United fanzine.
The Times' chief Scottish Football writer Michael Grant, a pal of mine, used to write as "Iron Mike" for the Aberdeen fanzine "The Red Final".
I loved the fanzine culture, there was a period that it seemed to give Football fans a collective voice.
Sadly, within the online community, the trolls shout loudest.
So wish I’d come across this back in the day. Ring any bells with you @MagicRatAFC ?
It was "eticketing" who were behind this, a sub-company (or some such) of Ticketbastard.
Tickets were appearing on secondary sites as the sale was going on.
It's a fucking scandal what these get away with, it eally is.
And Ticketmaster is the common denominator.
