I don't think we're overburdened with NFL fans on here, but the first weekend of the NFL season is one of my favourite sporting times of the year.
I have a nice Malbec breathing, a few tinnies in the fridge, Gamepass subscription purchased, Monday off booked, looking forward to Denver playing my Jints at 925.
Interesting season looming, a few teams look potentially good, a lot of rookie QBs coming into the league and Brady to Gronk still a thing (as Thursday showed).
My team?
Who knows.
I think if Jones and LT Thomas, fourth overall pick remember, don't start hot, Gettleman's seat will be.
For now, everyone is level (except Dallas with one loss on the board 😁) and anything is possible.
Let's go Giants!!
So, my 4th ever Giants game in the flesh Sunday just gone, and they've won all four.
I'm defo a charm.
First up, a fun couple of days in That London.
I love the smoke, apart from the prices.....particularly the beer.
I'm still too scared to check my credit card statement.
Saturday....few pints with old friends then a very tasty Mexican meal in Covent Garden.
A one man pub crawl back to my digs in Victoria.
To the game on Sunday.....that stadium is just astonishing.
What a place.
Met up with some friends in a pub by the ground (£9.80 a pint....😵).
I also met a guy called Frank who lives in Asbury Park and saw Bruce play for the first time in 1975.
"He was much better in the small venues" was his unsurprising take on his live credentials.
He was over with his son Matt, just moved to Cleveland from Nashville, both diehard Jints.
To the game, great banter with the Green Bay fans, my voice still hasn't properly returned.
A team photo pre match, left to right, my Buddy Scott, his other half Vikki, Scott's mate Chris (Aberdeen fan, Giants fan, Bruce fan.......how was I only meeting him for the first time), Matt, Frank, Yours truly and a random Green Bay fan from Essex who's girlfriend took the picture. (@whispered secret a Wolves fan)
Really, really fun couple of days.
My recovery time ain't what it was but feeling a bit better after a run this p.m.
Giants are 4-1......didn't see that coming.
Happy as Larry though.
