This song is becoming my obsession. The guitar solo, the precise and powerful drumming. The abrupt ending. Twice. Three times? I'm loving every bit of this song, it's so energetic, it shreds.
Lyrics. Puzzling enough to make this song even more provocative. Zero's my number, time is my hunter - sounds like a translation from Sioux and I believe it to be the name of the narrator, the first line is his introduction.
The song is about a relationship with a woman that shouldn't have occurred. Why? Who knows. There are borders and flames, black prayers, she set him on fire... I can feel the eroticism and the tension, so I assume this is not a conventional relationship. It's the kind you are willing to bleed for.
Sheets stained with sweat, outside the endless rain
Darling I'm blessed in your blood and marked by Cain
At one time I was thinking he was describing his woman giving birth.
Anyway, I'm confused and this is good.
Thoughts?
I love this song ... The part about: set me on fire is wonderful! I only have one problem with it, the solo seems unoriginal to me and reminds me of Long Walk Home.
