October finally gives us a treat. I've never heard this show before, and I don't think I've even heard the Danny selections on the Magic Tour Highlights EP either. Looking forward to checking it out and writing about it - the latter I'm hoping, as always to have out by Saturday night at the latest.

I'm still only up to "Kitty's Back," but "Long Walk Home" really shows that Steven van Zandt may not have a conventionally attractive voice, but there are times when he's a hell of a singer. The way he invents new melodies during his solo vocal section is really impressive. I'm not always a huge fan of his phrasing, feeling he overdoes the freewheelin' nature sometimes, but here he largely keeps that in check, while allowing his melodic sense free rein. Good stuff.
Anyone else keep listening to "Born to Run" from this one and feel completely emotionally overwhelmed? That doesn't happen often for me.
Just finished listening to the show and it sure was a powerful one. The setlist is sooo tight and the band is playing so well (the guitars are completely on fire, as @Bosstralian said)!
I had listened to a couple of this night's performances, particularly Sandy of course, but listening to it in the middle of the set, like the way it really happened, made it feel even more poignant for me. This show as a whole almost feels like a tribute to Danny, and that was, and still is, such a beautiful thing to listen to. Love this release.
Finally had a chance to download it this afternoon and had a listen to the opening 5 pack.
Wow, the three E Street guitarists are utterly on fire during this first run of songs. Hope this keeps up for the rest of the show... the three guitar assault when used well is one of the great joys of Reunion era shows.
I will download it tomorrow. 🙂
I was attending a gig yesterday, a local band I love was playing, and I was high on last night's music all day, wasn't ready for Mr. Springsteen... 🙄
This is spectacular.
You can feel the blood and guts all over this. The magic material and more importantly the other tunes that surround it is just sublime. I remember driving for hours to attend gigs that spring in San Jose and Anaheim. That tour was something.
A Friday night read (if you want it to be) folks!
PHEW!
Bruce saying "let me see the signs" and Max starting that "Rendezvous" drumbeat has me on edge guys and girls!!! OH SHIT NO!
Excellent!!!!!
