I‘d just like to echo Ann’s earlier post about the other place. I could go on an endless rant about it, I won’t. I would just say that I feel there are very few people there who I have any desire to engage with and many I would actively avoid. The loud mouthed, far right bigots and the ham fisted, illogical, inconsistent mods dishing out their arbitrary bans, (yes that includes me and the next ban will be my last).
Whereas here.......it feel like I’m among friends, kindred spirits.
I can only imagine the hours and hours and hours of hard work it’s taken to set up Across The Border and once again, I offer my heartfelt thanks to all those responsible.
As with many of us and most experts—including the GOP and Democratic official pollsters—there was no way he could have predicted just how thoroughly and well a hostile foreign nation had ratfucked our election, with the whole-hearted encouragement of the GOP, and the effect the conservative New York Times would have in trumpeting the nothingburger put forth by an unethical James Comey.
This year we have none of that. And we don't have a candidate who's been the target of a relentless 30 year organized attack, nor the institutional misogyny.
So as 2016 proved, anything can happen. But the circumstances are powerful different.
Honestly cannot believe what that board has become. Two mods ruin the place for me with their iron fists, yet allow their biases to manage their mod decisions and allow politics by some folk.
My oh my, I visited the old place to post my footie predictions, so thought I would check out this topic whilst I was there. Some real nastiness from the usual subjects and a few new names too.
I am so gateful to @ibbhomero for setting up this place, allowing us to talk politics and, if we want to avoid any of that, we just don't visit that particular forum.
I think we have a lovely group of people on here, most of whom I would enjoy sharing an evening with.
Couldn’t agree more Ann. What should have been the perfect opportunity to makes some gags about Aussies, and silly adaptions of Bruce to australianisms, became a venue for personal political gripes.
Look we could probably take him. But in the music hierarchy he will need to understand he is behind a lot of different bands and artists here; The Wiggles, Paul Kelly, The Saints, The Hoodoo Gurus, JPY, Kasey Chambers etc.
But I guess Bruce and his band could probably get a gig as the warm up act.

Regarding Bruce's prediction of Trump's loss: he made the same prediction 4 years ago. I pray he's right this time.

Stevie's tweet regarding this is fucking hilarious! Say it like it is Stevo.
And yeah, I saw the usual suspects coming out of the woodwork griping about socialism and Harris and whatever the fuck, glad no politics are allowed.
Well the Wiggles have a younger crowd, which is a demographic that Rolf has had complications with
Can, as the saying goes, you tell what it is yet?
When I saw the name of this thread I recognised the allusion and was sweating like Rolf at a Wiggles concert (as the saying goes).
See, he needs to be careful when heading towards Antipodean cover version.
Imagine the controversy if he covers Rolf..........
