I'm thrilled to say I saw Ronnie perform back around 1990, as part of an oldies show. She was the main attraction, and closed the show with a set of Ronettes material. I confess to having pretty low expectations, and wow was I wrong. She sang, swear to God, just like on the recordings. And she was INTO it. The last song was Walking In the Rain, and the audience gave her a standing ovation about halfway through. She burst out crying, croaking her way through the lyrics with the tears running down her cheeks. What a night.
Nice piece by Jesse.
Is it too much to say I'm in love with this performance of "Be My Baby"?
I get what Rick said last night completely.
Not Ronnie's finest moment, but Bruce related.
I spoke to Jesse about this after a gig at Tut's a few years back.
Let's just leave it at under rehearsed.
RIP girl.

She was hot before it was hot to act hot.
